New Additions to SKF's Energy Efficient Bearing Range

23 Nov 2009

SKF have introduced a further two bearing types to their (E2) Energy Efficient Bearing range.

Following the release of their Energy Efficient Deep Groove Ball Bearings and Taper Roller Bearings earlier in this year, SKF have now added Spherical Roller Bearings and Cylindrical Roller Bearings to the list with the promise of the new technology eventually being rolled out across all bearing types.

The E2 range exhibits at least a 30 percent reduction in friction when compared with standard versions of the bearings. The new technology provides energy savings, lower bearing operating temperatures, less noise, and enhanced lubrication conditions all of which promote extended bearing service life.

Special energy-efficient grease has also been developed exclusively for the E2 class bearings and works in combination with the bearings to deliver the optimized performance advantages.

The bearings additionally benefit from highly engineered internal geometries, unique polymer cages, precision design modifications, and proprietary manufacturing techniques. They are available in a range of sizes, allow for interchangeability with conventional counterparts to accommodate existing design envelopes, and are manufactured in accordance with ISO standards.

Typical applications for SKF's new E2 Energy Efficient Bearings include industrial ventilation fans (spherical roller) and industrial and wind energy transmissions (cylindrical roller), among others.
